ADEN-SABA
President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Wednesday the UN Secretary General's Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith and the accompanying delegation and discussed with them recent developments in different domains in the country.
President Hadi pointed to the real situation of challenges and difficulties facing Yemen over Houthi war on the homeland and its destructive results on the people.
We will always continue to be peace advocates- as peace is our permanent choice- embarking on our national and humanitarian responsibilities towards our homeland and our people, said President Hadi.
He added; for this objective, we have always made consecutive concessions for the sake of security and peace and admirable stability based on the UN Resolution 2216, GCC Initiative and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.
President reviewed his former experience with the coupists, who always reject all initiatives for peace and Houthi militia still have the weapons they looted from the state and rockets they always got smuggled through Hodeida Port and from the long coastline for threatening our brothers in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
"So, we repeat our say 'the militias have to obey the international legitimacy's resolutions and end their siege on Taiz and all Yemeni cities,'" said President Hadi.
"Hodeida battle is one part of our national battle with coupists in Sa'ada, Sana'a, Taiz and others (provinces) until accomplishing aspirations of people for peace and implementing related international legality's resolutions, handing over weapons and surrender to peace as the only choice serving the interest of Yemeni people," he added.
He reconfirmed will for peace and stopping the war, not as an idea for discussion, rather an objective and confirmed end in cooperation with brothers in the Saudi-led Coalition, and in accordance with the three references led by UN related resolutions, mainly Resolution 2216.
Houthis are digging trenches in Hodeida and cutting services on the people for trading and outbidding with their suffering for marketing their backward agenda, said President.
For his part, the UN Envoy expressed pleasure for meeting with the president and for his first visit to Aden for discussing latest developments and peace efforts, praising President Hadi's strong will for peace based on the three references.
Griffith, who pointed to his recent briefing to Security Council on peace efforts in Yemen, confirmed continuation of his efforts for this end with different parties.
