Governor of Lahj Major General Ahmad Turki discussed Monday with a team from the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), headed by the Deputy Director of the Program's office in Aden Rashid Hammad the latest developments in the governorate’s humanitarian situation amid escalating challenges facing thousands of poor and vulnerable households due to the reduction in aid volumes and the exclusion of a number of eligible cases from the Program's beneficiary rolls in recent periods.

Fatah urges relief campaign for Yemeni people during Ramadan

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah called on the donors, UN agencies and Arab organizations operate in relief and humanitarian action to contribute effectively toward relieving the Yemeni people through comprehensive relief plans and programs during the month of Ramadan.
In statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah said" Yemeni people have to receive Ramadan for the fourth successive year while the humanitarian ordeal is increasingly exacerbating due to the siege the Houthi militia has continued to impose on several provinces, denying relief aids access to those provinces; further worsening the humanitarian situation".
The Minister urged local charity organizations and benevolent businessmen to make substantial contribution to the relief action so as to make Ramdan a month of relief and solidarity with the IDPs throughout Yemen.
