Health Ministry launches immunization campaign against cholera in Aden

The Ministry of Public Health and Population inaugurated in the temporary capital Aden on Sunday an immunization campaign against cholera.

The house-to-house campaign, scheduled from May 6 to 10, will coverf four districts of Aden.

Undersecretary for Primary Health Care at the Ministry Ali Ahmed Al-Walidi, told Saba that the campaign, will cover the districts of Al-Tawahi, Al-Mualla, Khormakar and Seerah. It will target 351,905 persons from the age category of one year old and above.

He commended the support provided by international counterparts such as the World Health Organization and the UNICEF.calling on everyone in the city contribute to make the campaign a success.

In the inauguration ceremony, WHO expert Dr. Lauranzo and the acting director of the UNICEF office in Aden, Dr. Mohammed Ishaq, pointed out that vaccination is the second line of defense, while personal hygiene is the first.
