The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Dr. Afrah al-Zouba called on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) Volker Turk and the Human Rights Council to take urgent action regarding the humanitarian repercussions and violations resulting from the military escalation by the Houthi terrorist militias, amid the rapidly unfolding developments on the western coast and the Bab al-Mandeb areas.

Yemeni government welcomes the UN envoy Martin Griffith's statements

The Yemeni government has welcomed the statements of the UN's newly appointed to Yemen Martin Griffith he issued Tuesday in Amman as he commenced his mission in which he affirmed that he would work hard push forward a comprehensive political process on the basis of the GCC's –brokered deal, its operational plan, outcomes of the National Dialogue and International Security Council resolution 2216 of 2015.

Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) :" The Yemeni government has welcomed the UN newly appointed envoy commencement his mission and it assures its support for him as it had supported his predecessor for restoring the State's institutions and peace in Yemen".

Al-Mekhlafi added:" The UN' newly appointed envoy Martin Griffith would meet today with President Hadi, Vice President and Prime Minister and Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister".
