PM directs opening a tender for Mahra power

Prime Minister Ahamd Obeid bin-Daghr has been briefed by Governor of Mahra Rajeh ba-Kurait on the development projects in the province and its needs of other infrastructure projects.

President Hadi issued directives of buying a 10 MW plant and opening a tender for buying another plant with output of 40 MW operating by gas and diesel to be implemented in two stages this year, said bin-Daghr.

He added that the government gives Mahra's projects priority, especially water and power and health and roads projects, as well as education and other basic services, pointing out that the power project is one of the strategic ones as expansible to 80 MW.

In his meeting with the governor on Sunday, bin-Dahgr stressed on realizing security and stability and giving Mahri people wider chances of services in different fields, considering the President's directives of granting Mahra 20 percent of its revenues for managing its own affairs and implementing service projects a great chance to Mahris.

For his part, governor of Mahra ba-Kurait thanked the Prime Minister for following up the province's affairs.
