MARIB-SABA
The Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah told the chieftains of neighborhoods in Marib that a census of the internally displaced persons in the city will begin Sunday to underpin the expected relief aid allocation.
In a meeting of the local Relief Committee attended by the chieftains and representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib on Saturday, Miftah said panels would be set up in all neighborhoods to start from Sunday counting the IDPs by filling the relevant forms
.
He said that the province of Marib has been receiving masses of people fleeing the Houthi rebel militia and therefore needs to set up "a precise database that can be updated regularly" and shared with donor organizations interested in offering aid.
"There are displaced families that don't find what to eat," he told the audience. He thanked King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid which has been keeping an uninterrupted supply of relief aid to the IDPs in Marib. A new shipment of aid, according to Miftah, is expected in the coming two days.
