Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi to fly to Moscow on Monday on an official during which is to discuss aspects of bilateral cooperation and the latest developments in the Yemeni arena.
An authoritative official of the Foreign Ministry said:" Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi would pay a state visit to the Russian capital Moscow on January 22 in a response to an invitation from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in order to discuss bilateral ties between the Republic of Yemen and the Russian Federation, discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni arena and explore peace process in Yemen, and touch upon regional issues of common interest".
The official stated that during his visit Al-Mikhlafi is to hold joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Seregy Lavorv; noting that this significant visit comes within the efforts have been exerted by the Foreign Ministry with the aim of securing more international support for the Yemeni government represented by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi against the coup d'état and for restoring the states institutions, reestablishing peace, security and stability on the basis of the approved references and through the UN framework.
The official highlighted the deep rooted and historic Yemeni-Russian relations, highly praising the significant role of Russian Federation in supporting legal Yemeni government, supporting Yemeni people and efforts aiming to establish peace, security and stability in Yemen.
It is worthy to be mentioned that the deputy of Russian Foreign Minister, the envoy of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Middle East Mikhail Boghodanov met with President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Foreign Minister Al-Mikhlafi last month. Russia also decided to shut down its embassy and moved its diplomatic mission to operate in Riyadh.
