Landmines victims in Yemen counted 8958 in 2016, says international report

A gathering organized in the interim capital Aden on Thursday to mark the 20th Anniversary of endorsing the International Treaty on Banning Landmines.
The function sponsored by the International Committee on Banning Landmines and the Coalition of Banning Cluster Ammunitions. Some 40 participants attended the meeting representing the Yemeni Society for Raising Awareness on landmines, the Landmines- Survivors Society in the provinces of Aden, Luj and Abyan.
Landmines planted by Houthi militia in different Yemeni regions were in focus of the discussions.
It is worth mentioning that total number of victims of landmines in Yemen in 2016 counted 8 thousands and 958 according to report by the International Committee on Banning Landmines.
