CAIRO-SABA
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament Dr. Misha'al al-Salami has condemned atrocities of the the Iran-backed Houthi militia against members of the Yemeni parliament and of the GPC party and peaceful protesters in north Yemen.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, al-Salami said the militia committed "brutal acts: extrajudicial killing, enforced disappearances, arbitrary arrests, house arrests, bombing of houses and all forms of terrorization" against those who refused to continue the rebellion against the Yemeni government.
"These criminal and inhumane abuses toward the MPs and GPC figures unveil the criminal face of this militia," he said.
He said these abuses take place with blessing from the Iranian regime and as part of its sectarian expansionist scheme and its agenda of bigotry and imposition of (Jaafari Shiit) sectarian ideology by brutal force in the region and globally."
He said that the militia's "continuous looting of humanitarian relief aid, using of schools and all public offices as weapon depots and firing of ballistic missiles toward Yemen's neighboring countries represents an explicit violation of the intermantional humanitarian law and the UN Security Council's resolution no. 2216."
He reiterated the Arab parlimanet's firm and full support to the international recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. He highly appreciated the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's support in restoring the Yemeni state and state institutions.
He said that the Coalition has restored to the Arab world its dignity and glory in the face of the threat.
