Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdulrahman al-Muharrami, met on Saturday with Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mokhtar al-Yafei to review the ministry’s conditions and discuss ways to enhance its institutional performance and improve services provided to the most vulnerable groups, particularly in social welfare and labor market regulation.

Yemen calls for easing travel measures for its citizens

The government of Yemen has demanded the world countries hosting citizens to ease measures of travel to their territories and alleviating chains on theirmovements.

"Yemen suffers from internal displacement amounted to 4 million people," said Yemen's Permanent Ambassador to the Arab League Riyadh al-Okbori in an exceptional meeting on emigration and refuge for the organization held here on Tuesday.

He called on the international community and Arab League to intervene and putting pressure on Houthi-Saleh's militias to lift the siege on cities they occupied as the blockade complicates suffering of the citizens of famine and epidemics leading to more internal displacement and emigration for thousands outside the country.

He also called on the international community and the Arab League for partnership with Yemen's government and coordination for improving situations at lodging centers and camps, which are unsuitable for living and medication, demanding the UNHCR and International Migration Organization to increase contributions to improve these centers.

He also called for developing education and training in Yemen, as well as easing measures of accepting Yemeni youth in educational systems of the hosting countries, praising efforts of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti and countries making Arab Coalition for their support for regaining the state, reconstruction and realizing peace.

The meeting, which is organized with coordination with the UNHCR and the IMO, aims at following up the ongoing talks on the international agreement for refugees, international agreementand the international agreement on safe and organized migration and educating member states on the conditions of these agreements.
