U.S. Treasury Sanctions 21 Individuals, Entities for Involvement in Financing Houthi Militias
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Human Rights Ministry: Over 70 abductees killed in militias' prisons

Human Rights Ministry has said that over 70 Yemeni abductees were killed under brutal torture inside prisons run by the Houthi-Saleh militias.

In a statement, the ministry condemned the prosecution of 36 professors, activists and media professionals in invalid court which did not adhere to any legal proceedings.

It spelt out that the prosecution of 36 abductees confirms that the Houthi-Saleh militias continue violating laws, and international treaties and conventions.

The second hearing of prosecuting 36 civilians, who were kidnapped from their universities and homes, was held Thursday in Sana'a.

The ministry spelt out that civilians were unlawfully arrested, detained and subjected to all sorts of torture for two years and many of them are still detained, forcedly disappeared and subjected to mistreatment.

The ministry called local and international organizations to promptly move forwards and put pressures on the militias to release all abductees and forcedly disappeared persons and stop all sorts of torture practiced against them.
