The 14th Meeting of theGulf Cooperation Council's Office for Relief and Humanitarian Coordination to Yemen discussed process of relief in Yemen and efforts exerted by the government for improving humanitarian conditions.
The meeting was held Thursday at King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Activities.
Vice Minister of Local Administration and the Member of Supreme Relief Committee Abdulsalamba-Abboud valued generous and huge efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait for improving humanitarian and living conditions of different Yemeni society.
Ba-Abboud praised recent grant by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salmanfor facing cholera, as a second support valued at USD 8 million. He expressed appreciation of the government forGCC countries' relief and humanitarian support to Yemen.
For his part, Vice Minister of Health Abdullah Dahan reviewed health condition in Yemen and improvement in facing cholera epidemic erupted in a number of governorates, confirming the GCC support has helped the government to alleviate effects of the epidemic.
He added that 98 percent of cholera infected cases have been recovered and many of watery diarrhea cases have been cured.
The meeting discussed the process of relief and support of the GCC country last month in addition to what donors will provide for Yemeni people in near future.
