Aden (Saba)- Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin-Daghar has praised efforts made by the International Committee of Red Cross to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis harmed by the war carried out by the Houthi-Saleh militias.
This came as Bin-Daghar received Head of IRCR in Yemen Alexandre Faite , discussing a range of humanitarian issues.
Faite presented a detailed explanation on prisoners conditions in all Yemeni prisons, signaling out that ICRC seeks to document and register the prisoners and enable them contacting their families.
He also cited that ICRC works to control cholera epidemics which broke out in a number of Yemeni governorates, particularly those which are still run by the Houthi-Saleh militias.
As for prison conditions, the premier affirmed that the government pays much attention to this humanitarian issue, reiterating that the government is committed to the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 which provides to release all prisoners, particularly the Defense Minister Mahmoud al-Subaihi and major generals Faisal Nasser Mansour and Faisla Rajab.
In the meeting attended by ministers of culture and human rights, Bin Daghar demanded ICRC to continue its operations in controlling cholera, emphasizing that the government will provide all facilities.
