Riyadh, (Saba)-Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin Daghr discussed Tuesday with US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew H. Tueller latest developments in Yemen and UN efforts to activate international efforts to revive the hindered peace talks between Yemeni parties.
The meeting tackled latest movements of the United Nations Secretary General's Envoy to Yemen Ismael Ould Cheikh and coordination to support his movements. The talks will be based on the three references of the political solution; the Gulf Initiative and its Implementing Mechanism, the outcomes of The National Dialogue Conference and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
The two parts discussed fighting terrorism and coordination between the two countries in this field, in addition to enhancing security and defense capabilities of the legal government to eradicate this dangerous scourge and cracking down on its elements.
Bin Daghr emphasized that the legal government has been and still supports any effort on committing Houthi-Saleh's militias to practically implementation of the three references under the seventh chapter of the UN to end suffering of Yemeni people and put an end to the catastrophe caused by Houthi-Saleh's coup against the state.
He confirmed that the militias have never been serious about responding to peace as its decision has become at the hands of its supporter; Iran, noting that the militia dealing with the UN envoy at Sana'a Airport (shooting on his motorcade by Houthi-Saleh's protesters) is the best example of their bad will. This impeded the international community to support the government to end their coup militarily if they reject implementation of the three references.
For his part, the US diplomat reaffirmed his country's support to the legitimate authority in Yemen and keenness on the security, stability and unity of Yemen.
While he praised the government for its positive dealing and activation of efforts of peace and ending the people suffering by stopping the war, he praised the government's efforts in fighting terrorism and its big commitment in this field within the framework of international community.
He showed his country's support to efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen and aspirations that this round will achieve its aims under the three references.
