National Alliance of Political Parties: Houthi Militia Statement Represents Dangerous Escalation Targeting Yemen, Region's Stability
[04/07/2026 06:51]

ADEN – SABA
The National Alliance of Political Parties and Components has stated that the recent statement issued by the spokesperson of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia constitutes a dangerous escalation aimed at undermining the stability of Yemen and the wider region.

The bloc said the move seeks to exploit the current phase in the liberated governorates, where political and institutional restructuring efforts are underway.

In a statement received by (Saba), the Alliance noted that the timing of the Houthi escalation, coinciding with the timeframe outlined in the U.S.–Iran memorandum of understanding, represents unmistakable evidence that the militia serves merely as a tool implementing the agenda of the Iranian regime in Tehran and that its decisions are not made independently in Yemen.

The statement emphasized that the Houthi militia, backed by Iran, is attempting to compensate for its successive military setbacks by pursuing political gains, even at the expense of the lives of Yemenis and the country's stability.

The Alliance described the escalation as a desperate attempt to portray the transitional period in the liberated areas as a sign of weakness or division. It called on the internationally recognized government to respond firmly to any Houthi escalation on all fronts, avoid yielding to what it described as Houthi blackmail, and reaffirm that Yemenis will not accept appeasement with an Iranian-backed terrorist group.

The National Alliance reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to constitutional legitimacy and its categorical rejection of any form of Houthi domination over Yemen's national decision-making.

It stressed that any attempt to exploit the current circumstances would only strengthen national unity and solidarity.

The Alliance also strongly condemned the explicit threats issued by the Houthi terrorist militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has led efforts to support Yemen's legitimate government.

It reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting what it described as the militia's escalation, saying the threats are merely a desperate attempt to divert attention from the group's serious violations against the Yemeni people.

Furthermore, the Alliance strongly denounced the reported violation of Yemeni airspace by an Iranian aircraft and its landing at Sana'a International Airport, which remains under Houthi control.

It said the incident further demonstrates Iran's determination to continue providing military and logistical support to the Houthi militia, constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, and represents an open challenge to international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216.

The Alliance expressed its deep appreciation for the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Coalition countries in backing Yemen's legitimate government.

It affirmed its commitment to maintaining close coordination with them during this critical period in support of Yemen's stability and regional security.

The statement also called on Yemen's legitimate leadership to continue efforts to liberate the remaining territories occupied by the Houthi militia. It urged the international community and the United Nations Security Council to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities regarding what it described as Iran's blatant violation of Yemen's sovereignty.

Finally, the National Alliance called on all national political forces to strengthen unity in confronting the Iranian-backed Houthi agenda, stressing that ending the coup and restoring the state remain the central objectives of the national struggle until the Republic of Yemen fully regains its sovereignty and extends its authority across its entire national territory.

The statement was jointly issued by the following political parties and entities: the General People's Congress (GPC), the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah), the Yemeni Socialist Party, the Nasserist Unionist People's Organization, the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, the Participating Peaceful Southern Movement, Al-Rashad Yemeni Party, Justice and Construction Party, the Southern National Coalition, the Renaissance Movement for Peaceful Change, the National Solidarity Party, the Southern Revolutionary Movement, the Yemeni Unionist Rally Party, the Union of Popular Forces, the Peace and Development Party, the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Hadramout National Council, the National Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, the People's Democratic Party (Hashd), Shabwa National General Council, the Republican Party, and the National Liberation Front Party.
