Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan Adel al-Sunaini met today with Japanese State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kenji Yamada to discuss ways to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and support Yemen’s recovery and development efforts.
The meeting explored opportunities to expand economic partnership and draw on Japan’s expertise and capabilities to support the Yemeni economy, stimulate economic activity, create jobs and lay stronger foundations for sustainable development in line with the government’s priorities and aspirations.
Al-Sunaini briefed the 6th Japanese official on the latest developments in Yemen and the impact of regional tensions and escalation on economic stability and international trade, as well as the growing risks they pose to maritime navigation and supply chains.
The two sides stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to safeguard the security and stability of international shipping routes, particularly in the Red Sea.
