[12/05/2026 03:12]
ADEN-SABA
The Central Bank of Yemen confirmed that a minor electrical short circuit occurred this morning in the garage of its headquarters in the temporary capital Aden, stressing that the incident was swiftly brought under control by security and safety personnel without any material damage or human casualties.

In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the bank dismissed circulating rumors and claims alleging that its archives had caught fire, clarifying that the archive is securely located in a separate, well-protected area equipped with safety systems and is far from the site of the electrical fault.

The Central Bank also emphasized that misinformation campaigns promoted by certain parties affected by ongoing reform measures and regulatory actions will not deter it from continuing its national duties.

It reaffirmed its commitment to implementing reforms that have helped curb illegal practices and close avenues for financial misconduct.

The bank urged citizens and media outlets to verify information through official sources and avoid spreading or relying on unverified rumors.
