JEDDAH - SABA
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Afrah al-Zouba held talks today, Wednesday, with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), Dr. Mohammed al-Jasser over joint cooperation.
They discussed a number of topical issues, including the current project portfolio funded by the bank and Yemen's need for developing a joint country strategy between Yemen and the IsDB, which includes a package of priority projects in the fields of energy, agriculture, fisheries and education.
The talks also dealt with the debts owed to the bank and accumulated since 2016, and ways to address them by seeking support from Yemen's partners to pay off part of the debt, as well as studying rescheduling scenarios in line with limited financial resources and the difficult economic conditions Yemen is facing.
