RIYADH- SABA
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani has affirmed that the new government is moving forward at a pivotal stage to reorganize the political and military landscape and unify national decision-making within clear institutional frameworks.
This, he said, will strengthen the state’s ability to manage the next phase and give it real weight in any upcoming tracks for dealing with the Houthi militia—whether through negotiation or other options dictated by developments on the ground.
He made these remarks in a speech delivered Wednesday, via video conference during the Yemen Partners Group meeting, held with the participation of representatives from several countries and UN and international donor organizations to discuss mechanisms for supporting the new government’s plan.
Dr. Zindani emphasized that Yemen Partners Group meeting represents an important milestone for transitioning to a more results-oriented phase, better aligned with national priorities, ensuring that available resources are utilized with maximum efficiency to achieve the peace, stability, and development deserved by the Yemeni people.
The Prime Minister stressed that the political and security transformations Yemen has witnessed since last December, along with decisive decisions by the Presidential Leadership Council, have contributed to correcting the national course, ending duplication and fragmentation in political and military decision-making, and laying the groundwork for forming a more unified, cohesive government with broader geographic representation and greater inclusion of women and youth.
Dr. Zindani noted that the support provided by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, played a decisive role in reorganizing the security and military situation within a short period, positively reflecting on the political scene.
He affirmed that the new government was formed on the basis of competence, integration, and teamwork to confront the major challenges facing the country.
He renewed the government’s full commitment to supporting UN efforts and regional and international initiatives aimed at reaching a comprehensive political settlement that ends the war, alleviates humanitarian suffering, and establishes a just and sustainable peace, while continuing to enhance regional and international security, combat terrorism, and uphold the rule of law.
He also announced that the government has begun implementing an integrated action program based on the economic recovery plan, financial reform agenda, and anti-corruption measures.
He stressed a shift from crisis management to building sustainable recovery by restoring fiscal and monetary balance, improving public resource management, stimulating economic activity, creating job opportunities, and upgrading essential services, particularly electricity, water, health and education.
Dr. Zindani highlighted the adoption of a public-private partnership (PPP) policy document, efforts to establish a specialized PPP unit, and the launch of infrastructure projects according to transparent international standards to enhance investor confidence and encourage capital inflows.
He added that priority is being given to pension system reform, restructuring public institutions, and injecting young talent based on professional standards.
He also pointed to the formation and commencement of work by a coordination committee among oversight, judicial, and security bodies, and the completion of the national anti-corruption strategy in preparation for its approval. In addition, the government is working to improve the operating environment for partners and finalize the “single window” system to accelerate procedures and raise performance levels.
The Prime Minister appreciated the exceptional support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Yemen’s unity, security and stability, including support for exchange rate stability, salary payments, and the provision of fuel derivatives for power stations.
He also conveyed his gratitude to the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the World Bank for their developmental and technical support.
