The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zandani discussed with the Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to further develop them in several areas to serve the mutual interest.

The talks took place on the sidelines of the high-level international conference concerning the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, held at the United Nations headquarters.

Dr. Zindani expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the supportive positions of the Republic of Portugal in supporting constitutional legitimacy in Yemen.

The Foreign Minister confirmed the government's desire boost bilateral cooperation and coordination in international forums to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries.

The Portuguese Foreign Minister confirmed his country's support for the efforts to realize peace in Yemen, saying his government is willing to enhance areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the political and humanitarian aspects.
