Yemen's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah al-Saadi, met with UN Deputy Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator (OCHA), Joyce Msuya, to discuss the escalating humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
During the meeting, Ambassador al-Saadi highlighted the ongoing challenges in Yemen, including violations committed by Houthi militia and their obstruction of humanitarian operations. He emphasized the need for urgent action to address these issues and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
The Ambassador also stressed the importance of relocating UN agency headquarters to the interim capital, Aden, to enhance the effectiveness and continuity of humanitarian relief operations. Additionally, he called for concerted efforts to mobilize international support and bridge the funding gap for the 2025 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan.
