PARIS - SABA
The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mustafa Noman discussed Thursday with Dr. Beatrix Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary in the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development increasing the flow of humanitarian support provided by the German government to Yemen.
This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Nutrition for Growth Summit held in the French capital, Paris, aimed at more effective combat against food insecurity and malnutrition worldwide.
Noman praised the support provided by the German government to Yemen and the Yemeni people, noting that a reduction in external support for Yemen would generally contribute to a significant funding gap that would negatively impact all sectors.
He emphasized that the Yemeni government is striving for peace and is making efforts to mitigate the devastating effects of the war caused by the Houthi militia's violent coup against the legitimate authority, their control over public resources, and their use of these resources to fund internal wars and futile battles outside Yemen, which have brought devastation to the country.
