the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) has continued to discuss the latest developments in the national arena, first and foremost of which are the government's efforts to secure basic services and alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias .
The PLC devoted its meeting today, Monday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council and in the presence of all members: Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami , Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj Al-Bahsani, debate preliminary proposals to deal with the tasks of its strategy for the next stage.
The PLC approved these proposals in a previous meeting including a number of political, economic and military tracks and it has taken appropriate decisions and recommendations about them.
In this context, the PLC directed authorities in charge to quickly complete the sectorial matrixes to carry out the strategy as a roadmap to manage the intertwined challenges, focus on the priority of development and get the battle to restore state institutions finished and go on fighting terrorism and achieving the aspirations of the Yemeni people for peace, security and stability.
The Council also heard reports from its members on the tasks entrusted to them, including evaluating the performance of a number of higher authority bodies, the course of financial and administrative reforms, anti-corruption efforts and promoting the principles of integrity, transparency, and governance.
The PLC has directed the concerned authorities to take constitutional and legal measures to reconstitute the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Authority, activate the role of control and accountability mechanisms in protecting public resources and enhancing the sovereignty of the state.
The Council has urged the government to accelerate its measures to deal with the economic situation, remove all obstacles and restrictions in front of the humanitarian community and enable its relief interventions to reach those who deserve them in various parts of the country.
The Council stated that it has been very keen to facilitate the work of the government, enhance its capabilities to deliver on its obligations and immediately respond to crises and emergency changes in full coordination with all state institutions, central and local authorities.
The PLC reaffirmed the strong partnership with the regional and international community, first and foremost of which is the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and support their good offices in order to move the country from a state of war to a state of peace, in a way that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis to restore the state institutions, respect its identity and consolidate its belonging to its Arab world.
