. The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC( held a meeting today, Sunday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the attendance of its members Sultan al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and via video call Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Majli, while Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Faraj al-Bahsni were absent with an excuse.
The PLC, in the presence of Prime Minister Salem bin Braik, discussed the developments in the economic and service situations and assessed the course of comprehensive reforms.
The Prime Minister briefed the PLC on the progress in implementing PLC's Decision No. (11) of 2025 concerning the priorities of economic reforms, the measures aimed at addressing existing imbalances in the process of public revenue collection, and the extent to which the concerned authorities are committed to implementation at both the central and local levels.
The PLC reiterated its full support for the government’s and the central bank’s efforts to implement comprehensive reforms, sustain financial and monetary stability, adhere to standards of transparency and accountability, fulfill the state's inevitable obligations, and strengthen trust with the donor community.
On another development, the PLC welcomed the United Nations Security Council's decision to renew the mandate of the Expert Panel of the Sanctions Committee on Yemen in its efforts to deter violations by the terrorist Houthi militias that undermine the security and stability of Yemen and the region.
The PLC praised the outcomes of the report by the international Expert Panel on political, security and humanitarian developments in Yemen, which provided the international community with decisive evidence of the terrorist nature of the Houthi militias as a rogue, cross-border group supported by the Iranian regime, as well as their close association with terrorist organizations and their threats that destabilize international peace and security.
