Minister of Interior Maj. General Ibrahim Haidan held discussions today, Sunday, with the head of the Counter-Terrorism Bureau for South, Central and East Asia at the US Department of State Jesse Levinson and the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin over security cooperation in the domain of technology and security of information for fighting terrorism and security challenges Yemen and the region faced by.
General Haidan highlighted the need to support the Yemeni government's efforts to enhance stability, counter the terrorist organizations and the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias which are threatening security and stability of Yemen and the neighboring countries.
He underlined the Interior Ministry's ongoing efforts to re-build the security apparatuses and develop digital systems to improve its operational capacities despite the challenges the country has been facing presently.
The American official commended the Yemeni government's efforts to fight terrorism, voicing the United States' willingness to support those efforts through training and providing necessary technical assistances.
For his part, the American Ambassador affirmed his administration's commitment to help bolstering stability in Yemen and sustaining the efforts aiming to achieve the sustainable peace.
