ADEN - SABA
Minister of Transport Dr. Abdel Salam Humayd held talks with the Economic Advisor at the Office of the United Nations Envoy to Yemen, Anthony Biswell on the economic developments in Yemen in the wake of the recent decisions concerning the transportation sector in the country.
Talks went over the measures taken by the Central Bank to relocate commercial banks’ operations centers to the temporary capital, Aden, as well as the Ministry of Transport’s recent decision to transfer the Yemen Airways revenues to the Central Bank in Aden or to the national carriers' bank accounts outside the country.
The Minister of Transport confirmed that these decisions are organizational and technical decisions that come in implementation of the republican decision to transfer all ministries, government agencies and institutions to the temporary capital, Aden, to protect them from the Houthi confiscation of the funds.
