International Air Transport Association announces 11 percent increase in global demand

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that the international demand for aviation increased last April with 11 percent on the basis of year on year, compared to the same month of last year.

The IATA said in a statement today " Demand for international travel increased with 15.8 percent last April on annual basis. While the capacity of boarding the passengers increased globally with 14.8 percent. At the meantime domestic demand for aviation increased with 4 percent on the basis of year on year".

The IATA added" This growth comes for the 36th successive month and it is likely to keep on growing with the peak of the international travel season during the summer months".

It is important to note that the IATA expected a rise in the net profits of the aviation up to $25.7 billion in 2024, with a net margin reaches 2.7 percent, a relatively improve in the net profits compared to 2023 which it anticipated to come up to $23.3 billion.
