Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Prime Minister Ahmad BinMubarak, received Saturday here the UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg.
President al-Alimi was acquainted by the UN envoy with a briefing on his communications and recent tour in the region, in addition to his coordination efforts with brothers and friends for resuming an inclusive political process under the UN sponsorship.
The meeting touched upon latest developments in Yemen and needed international pressure against Houthi militia to interact seriously with peace efforts for ending suffering of Yemeni people and regaining their legitimized institutions.
President al-Alimi reconfirmed support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to UN efforts and its Special Envoy, uttering keenness on providing all facilitations to his tasks included in international legal decisions led by Security Council's Resolution 2216.
He pointed out to significance of the UN Envoy's focus on acts-not sayings- of Houthi terrorist militia and its supporters in their seriousness in interaction with peace efforts, including ending Taiz's siege, removing chains on funds and goods and salaries and stopping their escalation and terrorist attacks on civil establishments.
