President al-Alimi receives Chargé d' Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, Chargé d' Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Yemen Chu Ch'ing.

Yemeni-Chinese robust relations and developments in the Yemeni national scene was key focus of the discussions.

The ongoing regional and international efforts to revive the political process and the required Chinese role to press for peace amid Houthi militias' intransigence were also elaborately discussed.

The President has confirmed the commitment of the PLC and the government to a comprehensive and fair peace option that is based on the well-known agreed on terms of the peace references, particularly the UNSCR 2216.

The Chairman of the PLC welcomed what the Egyptian-Chinese statement included about the developments in the Red Sea that stressed it is very important to deescalate tension in the region and to make the safety of the international navigation a priority.

The President restated that it is very important to make support for the Yemeni government a top priority in order to restore the state's institutions and to enhance its capacities to be able to establish security and stability throughout the entire Yemeni territories. Given that this is the ideal way to secure the regional waters and international shipping lanes as well as to get the Houthi militias deal earnestly with the UN-led peace efforts on the basis of the outcomes of the good offices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
