Masam removes 758 landmines from different areas last week

King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Activities Center's Masam Project to clean Yemeni lands from Houthi militia's landmines has removed 758 landmines from different areas in Yemen during the period November, 25 to December, 1, 2023.

The project's report pointed out that the engineering teams have been able to remove 22 anti-persons landmines, 115 anti-tanks and 21 explosive devices and removed one un-exploded ordnance.

In other provinces, the project removed 165 unexploded ordnance, 21 explosive devices in Aden, and removed one unexploded ordnance in Hais district, Hodeida.

In Marib, the engineering teams removed 22 unexploded ordnances in the Valley District, 15 anti-person landmines in Harib, 100 anti-tank landmines and 300 unexploded ordnances in Marib District and one anti- person landmine in Raghwan District.

In Shabwah, the project removed two anti- person landmine in Baihan District and four unexploded ordnances in Usailan District.

In the meantime, the project removed 35 unexploded ordnances and five anti-tank landmines in Bab al-Mandab District, one anti-tank landmine and 62 unexploded ordnances in Makha District and removed four anti-person landmines, eight anti-tank landmines and 11 unexploded ordnances in Thobab District.

The project's report mentioned that the number of landmines, which have been removed since the beginning of its work, has reached 423 thousand and 794 landmines planted randomly by Houthi militias in different Yemeni territories.
