Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik convened a meeting of the Finance Ministry headship today, Wednesday, in the interim capital Aden intended to discuss the public finance status, challenges faced by and government's measures to improve revenues and carry out the reforms.
The Finance Minister Salim bin Bureik provided a detailed report about the public finance situation and the challenges it has been facing, specifically the cessation of oil exports due to the Houthi militias' terrorist attacks on the oil facilities that have seriously impacted the public proceeds.
The discussions touched upon the Finance Ministry's vision about managing the public finance and its plans for 2024.
The meeting also reviewed a report by the Deputy Finance Minister about the actions of the National Committee for Controlling Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism finances.
The report cited the progress realized in the coordination and interaction with the international parties.
