Washington - Saba
The Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Saghir Hammoud bin Aziz, discussed with the US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and the conditions and developments on the national scene, including reviving the peace process in light of the intransigence of the Houthi militias, which continues to deepen human suffering and threaten global energy supplies.”

The meeting touched on the continued military escalation of the Houthi coup militias and their rejection of all efforts at a political solution, and the role required of the international community, the United Nations and the Security Council in this aspect.

The Chief of Staff stressed the importance of the role of the international community in deterring the Houthi terrorist threats and the Iranian regime’s blatant interference in Yemeni affairs by sending more shipments of internationally banned weapons, in an effort to turn Yemen into a launch pad for threats against international peace and security... stressing support for the efforts of the American envoy and all endeavors to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, and achieve their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the militia coup.

The Chief of Staff praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the United States of America, appreciating the American position in support of constitutional legitimacy in various international forums. He also highly valued the American humanitarian interventions to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, which was exacerbated by the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil installations and international shipping lines. .
