Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh discussed Tuesday with Representative of UNICEF in Yemen interventions in health sector and enhancing work in primary healthcare sector, including provision of the minimum level of health services.
The two parties touched upon revision of the project of the Social Health Worker and focusing on outcomes of health institutes to improve service and implementing the vaccination campaign against measles to be carried out by the ministry with its partners after finalizing technical preparations.
Minister Buhaibeh confirmed deep-rooted partnership with UNICEF and significance of working on organizing work, as well as improving health facilities.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population Ali al-Walidi reviewed measures and procedures taken by the ministry to carry out the vaccination campaign against measles.
For his part, the representative of the UNICEF praised the role of the health ministry in its different sectors and praised partnership between the ministry and the organization.
He pointed out to necessity of finding joint working plan to include changing behavior, health awareness and making structural mobilizing work to all sectors for serving vaccination campaigns and their objectives.
