Minister of Local Administration and the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee AbdulraqeebFath has denounced continuous Houthi violations against relief and humanitarian activities and interferences in activities of relief organizations in their held-areas.
" Forcing relief organization by the rebel militia to pay 70 food baskets to Houthi militants inMuthaikhira District in Ibb, attacking employees of the social insurances in the district and stopping paying their claims is stark interference in relief and humanitarian activities," said Fath in statements to Saba on Sunday.
He added that kidnapping Director of Collection Office in Municipality and Environment Sector in the Capital Secretariat by Houthi rebel militia and displacing him, as well as aggressions against workers in this sector, looting revenues of the office, halting the employees' dues and the strike by workers will lead to accumulating masses of wastes in the streets leading to epidemics and re-eruption of cholera in Sana'a.
Fath called on the UN Humanitarian Coordinator, WHO and UNICEF for quick intervention and commit Houthis militia to pay salaries of municipality workers.
He also called them to stop Houthi interferences in activities of relief and humanitarian organizations and denouncing these acts.
