The US ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tueller has paid tribute to Yemen for its agreement, in an issued statement, on the UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh's proposal that the coup militia's hand over Hodeidah port to a neutral party.
In a meeting with President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi in Riyadh on Tuesday, the US ambassador also hailed Yemen's expressed readiness to support the UN envoy's efforts and President Hadi's exerted efforts for achieving peace.
President Hadi, on his part, praised the US for supporting the legitimate government and coordinating with Yemen in connection with ending the coup and establishing peace in Yemen.
The president and the ambassador also discussed a range of other issues of common concern.
