ADEN - SABA
The Council of Ministers devoted its session today, Sunday, presided over by the Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani to discuss the government's action plans to back the armed forces in their ongoing fighting against the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias.
The Cabinet highly praised the heroic fighting demonstrated by the troops of al-Amaliqa Brigades and the Homeland Shield Forces in the ongoing fighting to recapture Bab al-Mandeb and to restore the state institutions and eliminate the Houthi militias' coup.
The Prime Minister stated that the terrorism of the Houthi militias will not change the course of the battle nor stop its moving ahead or turn back the clock.
The government is not leading a temporary defensive phase or just waiting for events, but is leading state institutions in a national battle to regain its authority, Zindani stressed.
The Prime Minister directed all executive authority bodies to intensify efforts and provide all the requirements for the armed forces, military formations, security and popular resistance, as well as to protect the population and facilities, and ensure the continuation of services.
He remarked that this decisive battle is not just for a front or a city, but a battle to restore the authority of the state and its sovereignty, protect Yemen and the region, and secure international navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait from Iranian Houthi threats.
The Cabinet approved a draft law designating the Houthi group as a terrorist organization and criminalizing its activities and funding and directed the completion of the necessary constitutional and legal procedures for ratification.
