Minister of Public Works, Taiz Governor Launch Nashmah–Hawban Qadas Road Rehabilitation Projec

Minister of Public Works and Roads, Eng. Hussein al-Aqrabi and Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan inaugurated Saturday Nashmah–Hawban Qadas Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Project.

The covers distance of 26 kilometers. The project is funded by the Road Maintenance Fund and implemented by the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges.

During the inauguration, attended by the Chairman of the Road Maintenance Fund Eng. Ali Amer and the Executive Director of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Eng. Issam al-Busaili, the minister and governor reviewed the project's implementation progress and details.

The project includes road rehabilitation, maintenance works, and the installation of road safety measures.

Minister al-Aqrabi stated that the project is part of the ministry's plans to rehabilitate and maintain vital road networks in line with available resources and priority needs.

He noted that the ministry has prepared a package of technical and engineering studies for stalled road projects, as well as new projects across various governorates, which will be implemented gradually based on priority and strategic importance.

For his part, Governor Shamsan emphasized that the Nashmah–Hawban Qadas Road project is one of the governorate's key infrastructure projects and will significantly improve mobility while serving thousands of residents.

He added that the road is an important transportation corridor linking several areas and population centers, enhancing economic activity and facilitating access to essential services.

He also reaffirmed the local authority's commitment to closely monitoring the project's implementation to ensure it meets approved technical specifications.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, the Minister of Public Works and the Governor of Taiz inspected several major roads requiring maintenance and rehabilitation.

Minister al-Aqrabi directed the relevant authorities to prepare and submit the necessary technical studies to determine intervention priorities and address existing damage.

The Minister and the Governor also discussed Taiz Governorate's road infrastructure needs, including maintenance and rehabilitation projects, as well as mechanisms to strengthen coordination between the ministry and the local authority to improve the road network and better serve citizens.
