Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah al-Zouba held talks by telephone with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, on strengtheng bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the latest developments in Yemen and the wider region.
The conversation focused on continued coordination over issues of mutual concern, with both ministers emphasizing the need to support regional stability and safeguard international navigation through vital maritime corridors.
Al-Zouba reaffirmed Yemen's condemnation of the drone attack on two Egyptian oil tankers at Damietta Port, expressing the government's full solidarity with Egypt and its support for all measures aimed at protecting the country's security, sovereignty, and critical infrastructure.
She also said the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia's attacks in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab extend far beyond Yemen, warning that they pose a serious challenge to regional stability and the security of international shipping.
Abdelatty congratulated al-Zouba on her appointment and reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government, and Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also reaffirmed Cairo's commitment to efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in Yemen and easing the humanitarian suffering of its people.
