Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qassem Buhaibeh chaired a technical meeting with senior ministry officials and a UNICEF delegation to review progress on a project aimed at sustaining primary healthcare services in Taiz Governorate.

The meeting assessed implementation progress, upcoming activities, and key challenges, while discussing measures to strengthen coordination and ensure the project's objectives are achieved.

Buhaibeh said the ministry's programs and interventions are guided by the National Health Strategy for 2026–2030, stressing that all health projects should align with national priorities to maximize their long-term impact.

He said the strategy focuses on strengthening the national health system by building a resilient primary healthcare network as the foundation of service delivery and a pathway toward universal health coverage.

The minister also underscored the importance of community engagement in ensuring the sustainability of health services, saying lasting results depend not only on funding but also on empowering local communities to participate in planning, implementation, and oversight.

He called on ministry teams and implementing partners to accelerate project implementation in line with the agreed timeline, reaffirming the ministry's commitment to providing the necessary support to ensure the project's success.
