Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan Adel al-Sunaini on Wednesday held talks with Assistant Foreign Minister and Head of the Middle East and Africa Bureau at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Keiichi Iwamoto, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The discussions centered on expanding cooperation and building on progress achieved in Yemen–Japan relations, with both sides reviewing opportunities to enhance coordination across political, development, and humanitarian fields.

The Yemeni ambassador reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further strengthening ties with Japan, praising Tokyo’s continued political, development, and humanitarian support for Yemen, as well as its backing of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.
