RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received today, Wednesday, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Thomas Friedrich.

Yemen-German bilateral relations and cooperation was key focus of the talks.
They also conferred over the developments in Yemeni national arena, the German and European interventions required to support government reform efforts aimed to manage the economic hardships and to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Iranian regime backed Houthi terrorist militias.

The President greatly valued the supportive stance of the Federal Republic of Germany alongside the Yemeni people and its political leadership, highly appreciating the German key role within the European Union in supporting the sovereignty of nations and regional stability.

His Excellency asserted the support of the Republic of Yemen for Germany's entitlement to a permanent seat on the Security Council.

The conversations also addressed regional developments and their repercussions on national, regional and international stability, as well as the Iranian regime's attempts to drag Yemen into a broader conflict through Houthi militias and the terrorist organizations collaborating with them.

The Chairman of the PLC expressed his hope for a firm European stance regarding the threat posed by the Houthi militias to maritime security, saying "This danger will remain a constant threat as long as Iran’s agents continue to control parts of Yemeni territory".

President al-Alim underscored the importance of eliminating the threat instead of containing it. He called for taking advantage of the moment to achieve permanent peace and stability in Yemen and the region, while the Iranian regime and its terrorist militias are in trouble..
