The Assistant Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population for the Population Sector Dr. Abdulraqib al-Haidari discussed Monday with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative in Aden ongoing interventions in the field of reproductive health and ways to strengthen coordination and integration with the Ministry's plans and priorities.
The discussions aimed to improve the quality of services, ensure their continuity, and expand access for beneficiaries.
The meeting, attended by the Head of the Ministry's Technical Office, Dr. Muslih al-Tawali, also reviewed the field survey project for health facilities providing Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) services.
The participants highlighted the importance of the survey in assessing facility readiness, identifying needs and service gaps, and generating accurate data to support service improvement and guide interventions based on actual priorities.
The meeting further examined the logistics supply system for reproductive health medicines and supplies, as well as the measures needed to improve its efficiency, ensure uninterrupted supplies, and guarantee timely distribution to targeted health facilities.
In addition, the participants discussed the Universal Health Coverage project for reproductive health services and the proposed mechanisms for expanding access to essential services, promoting equitable access, and enhancing the quality and sustainability of these services.
Dr. al-Haidari emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the United Nations Population Fund.
He stressed the need to unify efforts in support of implementing programs and projects aligned with national priorities and contributing to improved maternal and newborn health indicators.
