MUNICH - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi convened a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof on the sidelines of the International Security Conference hosted by the German city of Munich.
The meeting deliberated on the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the promising prospects for their development at all levels.
In the meeting, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his profound appreciation for the support provided by the Dutch government, and its unwavering positions alongside the government and the Yemeni people, especially in mobilizing the necessary funding for the humanitarian response plan, and its notable interventions in the development and service sectors.
The President briefed the Dutch Prime Minister on the latest developments in the local situation, and the effects of the devastating war ignited by the terrorist Houthi militia, and their coup against the national consensus with the support of the Iranian regime.
The President addressed the serious Houthi terrorist threats to maritime navigation lines and international peace and security, in addition to their egregious violations of human rights, and their continued arrest and disappearance of dozens of employees of United Nations agencies, organizations and international missions, including the head of humanitarian programs at the Dutch embassy.
The President stressed the importance of the effective Dutch role in the unity of the international community, and the necessity of joining the punitive measures against the terrorist Houthi militia, as the best peaceful option to deter those militias and force them to stop their gross violations at the national and regional levels.
