Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Governor of Marib Maj. Gen. Sultan al-Arada has laid special emphasis on the importance of banding official and local community efforts together to protect antiquities and cultural heritage in Yemen.
In a meeting with the chief of the General Organization for Antiquities and Museums Ahmed Batayeh, Maj. Gen. Al-Arada noted that antiquities and museums can turn to vital economic resources if they are cared for, protected and developed. He referred to the importance of adopting a plan to protect relics and cultural heritage in Yemen and ratchet up public awareness about the value of antiquities and cultural heritage.
