Members of the Presidential Leadership Council Abdulrahman al-Muharrami and Othman Mujally, were briefed Tuesday by the Head of the Central Organization for Control and Audit or (COCA) Judge Abu Bakr al-Saqqaf regarding the monitoring role of the organization.
They discussed the organization's its empowerment, and effective mechanisms for controlling state funds and monitoring the performance of executive bodies at both the central and local levels.
Al-Muharrami and Mujally emphasized the importance of the practical and supervisory work of COCA, field visits, and the preservation of the correction of state institutions through programs that reduce carelessness and exploitation of the fragile situation the country is facing as a result of the deliberate destruction over Houthi terrorist militia's war on people and institutions.
Al-Muharrami and Mujally emphasized importance of making 2024 the year of combating corruption, uprooting it, correcting the sources of dysfunction, and countering abuse of power and misappropriation of public funds, framing it within the executive authority's plan, and overcoming the difficulties facing the management of the authority in performing its tasks and responsibilities.
The members of the Presidential Leadership Council emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts and expanding the work of the authority by reaching all state institutions and uncovering any financial or administrative corruption, and promptly referring them to the competent judicial authorities to take appropriate deterrent measures.
They stressed the importance of coordination and integration between the central authority and all state institutions to achieve further financial and economic reforms.
Al-Muharrami and Mujally pointed out to the determination of the Presidential Leadership Council to correct imbalances in various sectors and activate the rule of law on all, without exception, reaffirming their full support for the management of COCA to fulfill its role efficiently and effectively, to identify areas of failure, hold the negligent and corrupt accountable, and achieve real and substantial reforms that contribute to achieving the desired change in all government institutions.
For his part, the Head of COCA confirmed that the authority is operating within a well-thought-out plan to reach all state institutions and uncover any financial or administrative corruption, indicating that there are files that have been referred to the prosecutor general and the competent authorities.
He appreciated the support of the Presidential Leadership Council for the Central Organization for Control and Audit.
