Aden – Saba- Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik chaired a cabinet meeting in the interim capital, Aden, today during which the overall developments in the general situation at the local and external levels were discussed.
Discussions went over and the key issues that top the government’s priorities; the topics on the cabinet's agenda; and needed decisions and directives in that respect.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed the general challenges at the national level and the need to make maximum efforts to address them, and follow up on important issues in the military, security, economic, and service fields of direct impact on the lives of civilians.
The premier pointed to the developments in the ongoing coordination with brotherly and friendly countries to support the government’s efforts and plans to deal with the existing challenges, including mitigating the potential repercussions of international developments on the internal economic situation.
Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik touched on the continued threat posed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to international freedom of navigation, and the repercussions of that on the Yemeni economy, and the exacerbation of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. He pointed out that the Houthi militia continues to ignore all UN, regional and international efforts to stop the war and end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
