[16/05/2023 02:21]

Jeddah - Saba
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, met with the Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, David Gerssly, and discussed with him the progress made in implementing the United Nations plan to address the issue of the stranded Safer oil tanker.

Bin Mubarak appreciated the efforts made by Gressly in this regard and the international interaction with the calls of the Yemeni government and the United Nations to avoid a potential environmental disaster with serious humanitarian and economic repercussions.

The two sides also discussed the importance of redoubling efforts and mobilizing resources to deal with the issues of internal displacement and mine clearance.

It should be noted that the issue of internal displacement and mines is one of the urgent humanitarian issues caused by the terrorist Houthi militia as a result of its targeting of residential communities and planting mines indiscriminately on a large scale in Yemen.
