Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Sultan Al-Erada, discussed today with the Chargé d'Affairs of China's Embassy to Yemen, Zhao Cheng, the developments in the situation and the efforts exerted to stop the war, resume the political process and achieve peace.
During the meeting, Major General Al-Erada discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in order to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries, praising the great role played by the People's Republic of China in supporting development in our country in various fields.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council pointed to the positive Chinese role in promoting international peace and security and the efforts of Chinese diplomacy and its endeavors to address many complex issues and outstanding issues at the regional and international levels.
He expressed his hope that the Chinese government would play a greater role in resolving the Yemeni crisis and ending the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militia who reneged against the historical Yemeni National Dialogue, and instead chose to hijacke the state institutions, bomb cities, attack civilians and engage in a long barbarous war committing appalling crimes against humanity.
He stressed the importance of Beijing exerting real and effective pressure on Tehran to stop its continuous interference in Yemen's internal affairs, remove its hand from the Houthi militia, stop supporting and supplying it with weapons and funds, and work to create the atmosphere for the success of all efforts aimed at establishing a just and comprehensive peace in our country in accordance with the three basic references that enjoy local, regional and international consensus.
