The Republic of Yemen participated in the fifth session of the committee ad hoc meeting to develop a comprehensive international convention to combat the use of information and communication technology for criminal purposes (cybercrime) in the Austrian capital Vienna, with a delegation headed by the Yemeni ambassador to Austria and the permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Vienna, Haitham Shuja al-Din, and the Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior Major General Fayez Ghallab.
The session, which will last until April 21, will discuss the unified negotiating document on provisions related to international cooperation and preventive measures, technical assistance, implementation mechanism, final provisions and preamble to a comprehensive international agreement on combating the use of information and communication technology for criminal purposes (cybercrime).
