Baghdad - Saba
On the sidelines of his participation in the thirty-fourth conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Baghdad, Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani and his accompanying delegation visited our country's embassy in the Republic of Iraq.
Al-Barakani, along with council members Abdul Karim Al-Aslami and Suhail Muhammad Abdul-Razzaq, met with Ambassador Al-Khader Ahmed Marmash and the embassy staff, and listened from the ambassador to a detailed explanation of the embassy's status, activities, and care for Yemeni citizens residing in Iraq and the Yemeni diplomatic mission's role in revealing the Houthi crimes and the role of the legitimacy in trying to reach a comprehensive peace and to avoid bloodshed.
For his part, the speaker of the parliament praised the performance of the ambassador and his staff in this difficult circumstance and what they are doing to serve their country and perform their diplomatic role and the relations that they were able to establish with their brothers in Iraq, whether with the government side or with the various political forces, and encouraged them to make more efforts to serve the interest of Yemen, especially since Iraq is an absolutely indispensable country for the Arab world and its regional role.
The President of the Council expressed his hope for the return of Yemeni-Iraqi relations to their previous era, which was characterized by distinction and rootedness, and tens of thousands of Yemenis were in it, whether to receive education in various civil and military fields or who came for treatment.
